Alumnus Managing One of NYC’s Top New Restaurants Returns to the ÀÇÓѸ£Àû as Graduation Speaker

Hyde Park, NY – Eamon Rockey, general manager of the highly regarded Betony restaurant in New York City, delivered the commencement address at the New York campus of ÀÇÓѸ£Àû on January 22.

Rockey graduated from the ÀÇÓѸ£Àû in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts management. He went on to work in service and beverage program positions at renowned New York restaurants Eleven Madison Park, Aska, Atera, and Gilt before opening Betony with Chef Bryce Shuman, his former colleague at Eleven Madison Park.

Since its opening in 2013, Betony, with its Modern American cuisine, was named Esquire magazine’s Restaurant of the Year, earned a spot on the Wine Enthusiast list of the 100 Best Wine Restaurants, was nominated for a James Beard Foundation Award for Best New Restaurant, and received a three-star review in The New York Times.
